About Jamila Hammad

I live on beautiful St. Croix with my husband Bob. We moved here from NJ in 2005. I was born in Colombia and my father was Palestinian. Bob was born in Canada and his father is Greek. Our families are spread out across the globe and if we were to put them all in one place, we'd hear conversations in English, Spanish, Arabic and Greek.

In 2003 I saw an exhibit of art quilts, got seriously hooked and began to teach myself how to quilt. My passion for quilting has taken over my professional life as a marketing consultant and now that I'm a full-time artist, I am thrilled to be doing exactly what I love. As far as I know, I'm the only quilter in our family.
